OUTLAW LIVIN

In a World of Sheep...Be an Outlaw.

"A law repugnant to the Constitution is void"
- Chief Justice John Marshall
Marbury v. Madison (1803)

Most people treat AI like a search engine: they throw in a vague question and hope for the best. That works sometimes, but it’s like asking a stranger on the street, “Tell me about business.” You’ll get a rambling, generic answer.
The secret is that every strong AI prompt follows a repeatable pattern. Think of it as a recipe. If you include the right ingredients, you get a better dish every time.
The Five-Part Formula
-
Role – Tell the AI who it is.
-
Example: “You are a career coach.”
-
Why it matters: the role sets tone and style.
-
-
Context – Explain the situation.
-
Example: “I am a college student trying to choose between two majors.”
-
Why it matters: context helps AI aim at the right audience.
-
-
Task – Tell it what you need.
-
Example: “Compare the two majors.”
-
Why it matters: keeps the AI from wandering.
-
-
Constraints – Put limits on the output.
-
Example: “Write in 300 words, plain language, no jargon.”
-
Why it matters: stops the AI from rambling.
-
-
Format – Tell it how to deliver.
-
Example: “List the pros and cons in a table.”
-
Why it matters: good formatting = easy to use.
-
Example Prompt
❌ Weak:
“Tell me about careers.”
✅ Strong:
“You are a career coach. I am a college student choosing between computer science and psychology. Compare the two majors. Write in 300 words, plain language, no jargon. Put the pros and cons in a table.”
The second prompt creates an answer you can actually use.
